Calm before the score. Are you more excited to watch the game or the commercials on Super Bowl Sunday? For the big game, we prefer to host or attend a house party. If that’s up your alley, then these Super Bowl dessert ideas are for you. This year, we were invited to a Super Bowl Toga Party. We even managed to add a little TWINSPIRATION with our football cupcakes. We are excited to share these Super Bowl dessert ideas with you.
Super Bowl Dessert Ideas: Football Cupcakes
Get a kick out of this. Football season is coming to an end, so let’s celebrate with some Super Bowl dessert ideas. These football cupcakes are perfect for either a Super Bowl Party or watch party during football season. You can even make them for a kids football themed party or kids sports party. These adorable football cupcakes are a fun and festive way to celebrate the Super Bowl. You can decorate individual regular or mini cupcakes as footballs. Other Super Bowl dessert ideas are to make pullout football cupcakes.
Super Bowl Dessert Ideas: Pullout Football Cupcakes
Out of your (NFL) league. We prefer to make mini cupcakes over regular cupcakes. Adults usually prefer minis and sometimes they might even eat more three or four. To make these pullout football cupcakes, bake your favorite cupcake recipe. We baked peanut butter cupcakes and used brown cupcake liners.
After the cupcakes are done baking, let them cool on a baking rack.
Next arrange the mini cupcakes in the shape of a football. Make chocolate buttercream and frost the mini cupcakes with an even coat of buttercream.
It’s already starting to look like a football.
Then use a piping ball to pipe a buttercream border. Then add M&Ms in the color of the teams playing, here we represented the Broncos and Panthers. Look at how perfect these cupcakes are for a game day spread.
Super Bowl Theme: Toga Party
Dressing up is mandatory for a toga party. Our host, Nick, is an expert “toga tailor.” He draped many guests in fabric to resemble a Greek God or Goddess. He even adorned each guest with a crown of leaves.
We love theme parties and this time we decided to elevate the traditional toga into a sophisticated Goddess inspired look. We grabbed white/ivory dresses, skirts and tops and paired them with golden tiaras. Special thanks to Bryan for the amazing photos!
Super Bowl Party: Food Ideas
For large parties, we highly recommend going potluck style. Guests brought an assortment of appetizers and mains in addition to beer and wine. We dined on burgers, chicken wings, casseroles, samosas, chips, dips, guacamole, cheese plates and pasta. For dessert, Archana brought the peanut butter football pullout cupcakes.
