I love peaches in just about any way, shape or form. Fresh juicy peaches are one of the best things about summer. But, you don't have to wait for fresh summer peaches or peach season to enjoy this easy slow cooker peach cobbler recipe.

I make an easy peach cobbler with canned peaches, just like my easy peach dump cake recipe. But instead of baking it in the oven, you make this dessert in the crockpot! No need to heat up your house for this easy cobbler recipe. It's the perfect dessert for summer!

Ingredients

There are only 3 ingredients in this easy crockpot peach cobbler with cake mix. You can find them in your grocery store or online.

  • Canned peaches -- I use canned peaches in peach juice since the sweetness of the peaches is perfect, but you can use peaches in heavy syrup or lite syrup if you like
  • Cake Mix -- I use yellow cake mix, but white cake mix or vanilla cake mix is fine
  • Butter -- either salted butter or unsalted butter cut into slices

You will also need a larger slow cooker --- I use my 7 quart crockpot for this easy peach cobbler. Non stick spray or butter is helpful to make clean up easier. You can also use a crock pot liner if you like.

How to Make Crock Pot Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix

First, grease the bottom and sides of the crock pot with butter or cooking spray.

Then, pour the peaches into the bottom of the crock pot. I like to add a little cinnamon to the peaches for extra flavor. This part is optional, though.

Next, sprinkle the cake mix on top of the peaches.

I like to smooth the cake mix with a large spoon or wooden spoon so that it's nice and even. Kids can help with this part -- my kids have been helping make this easy dessert for years!

Finally, place the pats of butter on top of the cake mix.

Cooking Time

Place the lid on the slow cooker, and cook for 2 ½ to 3 hours on high.

When done, the top crust should be golden brown and solid, though it may be a little soft. The peach filling should be bubbling around the edges.

You can remove the lid for the last half hour to allow the cobbler to firm up.

Recipe Variations

You can use canned peaches, fresh peaches or peach pie filling in this recipe. If you want to make fresh peach cobbler from scratch, you can also make it in the crockpot.

You can also use another type of fresh fruit or fruit filling. Try my Slow Cooker Apple Cobbler.

Add cinnamon or brown sugar or vanilla extract for more flavor. A little nutmeg is good, too.

You can double the recipe by adding more fruit filling, but don't use more than 1 box cake mix.

If you have an Instant Pot or electric pressure cooker, try my Instant Pot Peach Dump Cake.

Expert Tips

This crockpot peach cobbler recipe is super juicy. You can drain 2 cans of peaches if you don't like extra liquid. Use the juice from the third can.

The liquid will thicken up as the cobbler cools down. This dessert is actually best enjoyed warm, not hot!

You are using dry cake mix for this recipe, so do not follow the directions on the box of cake mix.

If you think there is too much moisture on the cobbler, place sheets of paper towels or a clean kitchen towel between the lid and the top of the crock pot to catch condensation.

You can also remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking to help the cobbler crust firm up.

How to Serve Cobbler and Store Leftovers

Serve this delicious dessert warm with a big scoop of ice cream on top. Warm peach cobbler is even better topped with a drizzle of caramel syrup or butterscotch syrup!

I use bowls to hold the extra juice. You can also use a slotted spoon to scoop the cobbler out of the slow cooker.

Refrigerate leftover peach cobbler in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Warm up individual servings in the microwave.
